Betting Tip - Rendall Munroe vs. Fabrizio Trotta
Published December 15, 2008 by Martin Bean
Frank Maloney puts on a show in Dublin, Ireland for the homecoming of Irish Olympic Medallist Darren Sutherland, who will be making his debut on Thursday night, 18th December 2008. But, Sutherland will make his debut on the undercard, whilst Nottingham’s working class hero Rendall Munroe (16-1, 7 KO’s) headlines in making the third defence of his European Super Bantamweight Title.
In the opposite corner will be Fabrizio Trotta of Italy (Vasto to be exact), who brings an ordinary looking 13-4 (4 KO’s) record to the ring but is challenging for a European Title for the second time – Trotta lost a challenge for the EU title over 12 rounds in June 2008 to 23-0-1 Frenchman, Jeremy Parodi. I must confess to not knowing too much about Trotta but after doing my research it seems that whenever he has stepped up a level against an opponent with a winning record he has lost – the only exception being his win over Massimo Mora earlier this year to claim the Italian Title.
Whilst Trotta hasn’t ever been stopped in his four defeats, he’s not faced any decent punchers. Munroe himself is not a huge puncher and tends to wear opponents down, so a stoppage looks unlikely, but if it happens it’ll be late on.
Expect a hungrier, grittier and ultimately classier Munroe to be two rounds up after six scrappy rounds, before upping the pace over the last six rounds to secure a wide points decision win.
